Tenacious Biography
Since his youth, Tenacious has been an avid hip hop lover, becoming captivated by all the elements included in that genre, until he evolved into a talented and powerful emcee himself.
Described as a “gateway” for most of the emotions that he has experienced in his lifetime, hip hop is definitely a building block for the musical career as well as the life of Tenacious. Influenced by some of the best in hip-hop; Notorious B.I.G., Nas and The Roots, Tenacious has a solid grasp on how to deliver the most powerful lyrics imaginable, while being in tune with instrumental in the background.
Tenacious has been incredibly active in the local hip hop scene for the better part of ten years. Being a part of the legendary groups, The Agenda, Heavy Contact and now Mightier Than The Sword Records, Tenacious has traveled throughout the South providing his one of a kind and unforgettable stage presence.
Tenacious has been a part of the Texas Pete Twin City Ribfest, The ThoughtCriminals “Standing Still” Tour, Uzhui’s “Oneway” Tour and reached the finals in the battle bracket twice in a row at Somewhere Else Tavern’s “Super Cypher’s 2 & 3.”
In 2008 Tenacious released his debut solo album “Whodathunk?” under Mightier Than The Sword Records as one of the fastest selling albums the label had seen up until that point.
Including production by the legendary Ski Beats (Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt) Double J The Jenius (Adult Swims Boondocks) West Wonder (Ty Bru’s On The Brink) and one of the best new producers from NC, Skemes the album was bound to make an incredible impact and described as a “generator” for all his work.

Whodathunk?  is an album that explores the limits of Hip Hop.  It takes you on an adventure through different types of sounds and lyrical content.
From the Intro track that puts you front row at a major sporting event anxiously awaiting the starting lineup; to the Outro that bumps a dark, thumping beat that carries listeners off into the sunset.
Tenacious (the focal emcee) is a talented artist that takes into account the audiences respect for lyrical content and clever word play.
The features on the album span from an array of local (Greensboro, NC) artists to a veteran emcee (Ski Beats) who worked with the likes of Jay-Z and Camp Lo.  The production for the album allows the audience to enjoy an array of beats from heavy drum and bass to harmonic sounds that send you to a nostalgic parallel rap universe.
Whodathunk?  lacks a southern style that may appeal to a lot of modern rap fans, but what it lacks, it more than compensates with a traditional style of hip hop that is influenced by a '90's flavor that still stimulates the ears of true hip hop heads.  Songs can be banged out on the ride to and from work/school, chilling at the crib, or helping to get the party started.
"Whodathunk?" is a gift for anyone interested in listening to good, solid hip hop music that sends you to a place you never thought could exist!!!!!!
